It so happens that the things that make us better are often the things we have a very negative feeling towards. It’s the life situations and circumstances that induce our growth that we fear and resent the most.
During times of challenge, we often say to ourselves that there is a silver lining to our struggle, although we are not always truly convinced of it in our heart.
No one likes to be uncomfortable. It is, however, through uncomfortability that we came into this world. Pain and discomfort are at the very core of progress and evolution of humanity.
The most dreaded and unpleasant situations are the best catalysts for growth.
- An illness gives us an opportunity to become more mindful of our lifestyle and what we put into our body so that we can attain radiant health and well being.
- A broken relationship gives us an opportunity to learn more about ourselves and what qualities we want in a partner so that we can create a beautiful, long-lasting union.
- A death of a loved one gives us an opportunity to learn how to truly appreciate the people that we love while they are still among us in their physical form.
- A failure of a business venture that we started gives us an opportunity to learn valuable entrepreneurship lessons, so that we can succeed in the future, perhaps on much bigger projects.
When we fail to learn the lessons the unpleasant situations try to teach us, and therefore inhibit our own growth, we are bound to repeat those lessons. And the cycle does not stop until we finally “get it”. Such is the way in which the universe operates. There is no escape from the school of life. Growth and evolution are our purpose and destiny.
Regardless of what you may be going through, see it as a wonderful opportunity. There is nothing to fear, no matter how much discomfort you are in. If it came into your life, it is here to make you a better human being; it is here to help you become the greatest version of yourself.
