Are you ready to get in the driver’s seat of your life and gain conscious control of your destiny? Here are fifteen ways that will help you do just that.
Stop believing that someone else is in control of your life. The thought that someone other than you is in control of your life is a highly destructive thought that will fill your life with angst and paranoia. Believing in it will make you feel frustrated, helpless, and powerless. Get rid of the thought immediately.
Of course, there are certain areas of your life that you have no control over, however, you have complete authority over the most important aspects of your existence: you choose what you eat, read, watch, listen to, and believe. Make sure to make intelligent choices in those crucial areas.
Stop blaming others for your misfortune. Acknowledge that you are the creator and co-creator of your experience. Everything that you have had and gone through in life, you asked for, whether verbally, emotionally, or otherwise. That includes the circumstances you were born into, your parents and family, your physical condition, etc. There are no accidents, coincidences, or mistakes in life. Rest assured of that.
Acknowledge the problem; focus on the solution. Do not overly worry nor constantly think about your problems. Simply acknowledge them and take proper action to correct them. Become solution-oriented. If you focus on the problem, the problem grows; if you focus on the solution, the problem shrinks. Acknowledge the fact that every problem is an opportunity to learn, grow, and advance. Allow your problems to be your stepping stones to success.
Stop judging others. Don’t judge or overly criticize others. Instead, focus all your energy on the work your are doing and being the best you can be. Turn your attention to what you want to see and experience more of in your life, rather than what irritates you or makes you upset.
Don’t make too many commitments. If you value your freedom, don’t make too many commitments. When you have a lot of obligations that you have voluntarily made, your joy of living can be ruined. The more commitments you make, the less room you leave for living spontaneously. Don’t lock yourself up in the invisible prison of commitments.
Pay no attention to negativity. Regardless of what you do, someone will try to bring you down. Their success, however, is almost entirely dependent on whether you decide to entertain them or not. By choosing the former, you empower them. By choosing the latter, sooner or later the ‘haters’ will disappear.
Instead of focusing on the ones who criticize you, focus all of your energy on working towards becoming your greatest version. Allow people to say their peace without getting “sucked in”. Your time is priceless, so don’t let your ego get in the way.
Develop a PMA (positive mental attitude). Your attitude/mindset determines how you perceive the world and what type of people and situations you attract into your life. Your mindset is responsible for shaping your entire life experience. The universe responds to our feelings which are generated by our thoughts. When you start developing a positive mental attitude, you will begin noticing major shifts and changes in your life. Know that the outer world is really the reflection of your inner world.
Cultivate your mind. By cultivating your mind, you can become a true master of your life. Therefore, invest time daily for acquiring new knowledge. Learn something about every aspect of life that affects you in one way or another. Read conscious books, watch educational dvd’s, study your birth chart, etc. The more knowledgeable your are the better at navigating life you become.
Develop a strong self-discipline. Self-discipline is the bridge between who you are and who you want to be; between having goals and achieving them. A strong self-discipline will help you accomplish whatever you set your mind to, thus, help bring your vision to reality.
Learn how to program yourself to stick to your plans and keep pushing forward even when your emotions try to deter you from working towards your goal. If you press forward regardless of the excuses your mind comes up with, you will tap into a powerful source of energy that you never knew existed.
Take care of your body. Your body is your holy temple. Every gland, organ, and system plays a crucial role in keeping your physical vessel that you live inside in the state of harmony.
By caring for and properly maintaining your body, you will be able to enjoy great vitality. When your body performs at its highest level, you can use all of its capabilities to get the most out of life. Consuming whole foods, getting proper rest, practicing conscious breathing, getting lots of sunlight, and moving your body regularly will keep your system in the state of homeostasis or perfect balance.
Eliminate unnecessary things. Open all the drawers, cabinets, and closets in your house and take a look around. Do you really need everything that you see? Examine how much value each of the items that you own contributes to your life. You will soon realize that you can be just fine without the majority of it.
By getting rid of unnecessary possessions, you free up not only your living space but also your mental space. When your house gets cleaner, your mind gets clearer. After eliminating all the clutter, your life will become more simplistic and meaningful. The time you spend on cleaning, organizing, putting things away and moving them around, and looking for ‘lost’ items, you will be free to spend with your loved-ones and/or doing the things you are passionate about. Remember, the less things you own, the less things control you.
Do more of what you love. What is your passion? What is it that you could spend your entire life doing without being paid for? Perhaps, you have not been able to do it as much as you would like or perhaps even at all due to your busy schedule.
It is vital that you make room for doing what gives you that amazing feeling of joy and excitement. Whether it is writing, singing, painting, or volunteering, you ought to dedicate time for it. If you have to, take a day off work and use that entire day for doing that thing. The more you do what you love, the happier, more fulfilled, and content you will become.
Get your finances together. You can’t be in total control of your life without being in control of your finances. The way you manage money often reflects how you manage other areas of your life.
Get organized so that you don’t get hit with late or overdraft fees, or any other avoidable charges. Make sure that whatever loans you have (auto, mortgage, credit cards, etc.), get paid on time. Try not to purchase things that add little to no value to your life and/or depreciate rather fast. If you have saved-up some capital, invest it in assets that will generate income.
Respect nature. You are one with the Earth. What you do to the planet, you do to yourself. Be conscious of how much waste you generate and of how you dispose of it. Recycle what is recyclable and compost what is compostable. Use resources such as water and paper wisely.
Meditate daily. Meditation will calm your mind providing you with the most amazing relaxation. It is a powerful way of reconnecting with your true “self.” Through the practice of meditation, you will be able to access the divine guidance from within and receive answers to the most profound questions.
