As a holistic healer, I work with and speak to a number of people on a daily basis about many different health issues. One of the most common ailments that I am approached with is inflammation. It is so-prevalent that I decided to formulate a special therapeutic juice called “Inflammation is Gone” to join the lineup of my juice bars’ healing beverages. Ever since it was introduced, we have received a wonderful feedback on it.
What inflammation really is
When something is inflamed it means that it is “on fire”. When the tissues in our body are inflamed it means that they are red and sore due to a burning. So, what initially set them “on fire”? The answer is: mucus. And what created that mucus? Acid.
Something that you may not know is that every disease that ends with the suffix -itis denotes inflammation. For example, arthritis denotes inflammation in the joints; bronchitis denotes inflammation in the bronchial tubes; hepatitis denotes inflammation in the liver; sinusitis denotes inflammation in the sinuses, and so on.
Once we know that inflammation is created by mucus and mucus is formed when there is an overload of acidity in the body, it makes it easy to bring our body back to the state of homeostasis (balance). When we break things down, we dive to the root of an illness and regain control of the situation.
By applying the information contained in the three steps below, your body will immediately begin to naturally repair and heal itself from inflammation.
- Embrace an alkaline diet. Since the root of inflammation is acidity (created by an acidic diet) and the opposite of acidity is alkalinity, in order to overcome inflammation, we must replace the acidic environment of the body with an alkaline one. That means dropping the acid-forming foods and replacing them with alkaline-forming ones. It involves eliminating all dairy and meat products (nr. 1 contributor to inflammation), refined sugars, table salt (sodium chloride), while flour, white rice, white bread, pastas, pizzas, coffee, as well as everything that contains gluten, and replacing them with that which grows out of the earth. Start consuming lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts, and herbs. Put an emphasis on leafy greens. Every edible plant that comes from the ground is naturally alkaline. Even tomatoes and all citrus are alkaline-forming, so there is no need to avoid them. Also, bromelain, a pineapple enzyme, is a powerful anti-inflammatory compound. Drink plenty of pineapple juice and add pineapple to your smoothies as often as possible. Eating whole (alkaline) foods will make your body whole (alkaline).
- Begin consuming anti-inflammatory herbs. Herbs such as devils claw root, turmeric root, feverfew, meadowsweet, boswellia, white willow bark, mullein leaf, and cayenne fruit, are some of the best anti-inflammatory herbs on this planet. They can be taken individually but when combined, their action becomes even more potent.
- Start to “think right”. The immaterial becomes material. The thoughts that we think become physical matter that profoundly affects our physiology. Thoughts create feelings and feelings create emotions. Emotions are simply “energy in motion”. When we think and experience emotions, we use energy, and each time energy is used, metabolic waste is created. When we think negative thoughts and experience negative emotions, our body produces a highly acidic metabolic waste that is just as deteriorating to our health as the metabolic waste produced from the consumption of unhealthy foods. When our body is overwhelmed by the accumulation of toxic metabolic waste, it starts to struggle with the elimination of that waste which leads to a buildup of toxicity inside of the cell tissue. That is how mucus and inflammation begin. Positive thoughts and feelings, on the other hand, just like healthy foods, raise the body’s pH levels making it more alkaline. “Thinking right” is a crucial component to healing from inflammation that should not be overlooked.
Inflammation is truly one of the easiest adverse health conditions to heal from when approached in a holistic manner.
