The teeth, like other parts of the body, have the capacity for self-regeneration. Damaged dentin and enamel possess remarkable regenerative potential, and under specific conditions, many dental caries (cavities) can be naturally reversed, and teeth can initiate their own self-repair. This process, known as "remineralization," is primarily facilitated by specialized cells called odontoblasts.
